D series lsd questions
Hey whats up guys. I was just wondering if andybody knows if they made a d series LSD tranny. If so does anybody know what it came in. The reason i'm wondering is because when i had my JDM d15 i had a s20 tranny and it didnt seem to torque steer much or just spin one wheel. Now i got a d16z6 and a different s20 tranny and this thing spins one wheel like crazy.
D-series can spin tires? LOL
What were the power levels of both engines? And vehicle weights?
But, no D-series trans came with factory LSD that I'm aware of, and they all come with terribly uneven CV shafts, which never helped torque steer. It can be hit or miss as to what the trans will do. Some non-LSD transmissions will spin both wheels. Others will only do one (the same side). And others will spin one wheel, but alternate sides. I wouldn't put too much thought in to it.

The jdm motor was supposed to be 125 horses but never had it dynoed. The d16z6 (130 hp) has alil over 100,000 miles so i dont know hp numbers. The car is a 92 hatchy full interior, still got the spare tire and jack in the back.
Yeah i know some of the older rear ends (GM) would act like that. They would be open diffs but they would still posi.
This is my first venture into honda territory. I've always messed with mitsu's (eagle talon TSI and 3000GT VR4)

Some of the JDM D15B Vtec trannys come with an LSD, I assume they're just a viscous unit. Mfactory makes some high quality aftermarket units as well.
Yes they do...I would recommend putting an LSD if you plan on spinning tires on a regular basis =P You will end up shooting the differential pin through the case when it decides to let loose or snap the spider gears. Does some serious damage. Seen it happen many times!! Let me know if your in the market for an M-Factory LSD..I got plenty of them in stock right now and can work you a good deal on one.
