ITR tranny need syncros
My 5th gear feels like it goes in when I shift but when I release the clutch it pops/grinds out. I want to know if all I need is the syncro for 5th and reverse and 5th gear mainshaft

Could be a couple of those issues..have you ran the transmission low on fluid?? I would get the transmission opened up and inspect it. That way you buy what you need and know what needs to be replaced. Let me know if you need anything or have any questions..shop number is 909-476-7252
Usually popping out of gear is caused by worn engagement teeth on the sleeve and gear but it can also happen from a worn bearing. Let us know what you find after getting it open.
ok so now my question is can I buy them both and the problem will be fixed? I'd rather just buy both and just knock it out and have my tranny back asap.

As long is that is all that is wrong. It is hard to say without having the trans opened and seeing it first hand. Its kinda like guessing what is wrong with a rough running car without popping the hood and having a look
In most cases yes but, you never ultimately know until you get it open.

i have a problem in the same general area, i had the case split and i was told my tranny was perfectly fine, but my 4th gear will not engage and when it does as soon as i turn it pops out and its usually impossible to get in. this may be hard to believe but 3rd gear will work beautifully then it will grind a hundred times in a row and 4th gear will work and 3rd wont for a while then it will go back to 3rd being perfectly fine and no 4th gear, i think im gonna pull the tranny and open it up.if anyone has any ideas let me know thanks
Sounds like 3-4 synchros, sleeve, hub, and probably 3rd and 4th gears. The engagement teeth on the sleeve can get hung up on the hub when they are badly rounded.
