1991 HONDA OF CANADA DX HATCHBACK
Hey my civic sat for 3 years down a hill next to a creek that I'm sure flooded, and at times up mid windshield before I bought it. I work at a shop and had a tech help me out cause it's smoking pretty bad. I changed the oil twice in less than 300 miles due to turning black after engine flush and seafoam cleaner. I've also put the seafoam through the brake booster to help clean some more of the engine before changing dist/plugs/wires. runs cleaner and smoother but still smoking. So thinking about doing a rebuild or is it worth it? It has 139,xxx miles on it and nothing else seems wrong with it.
I would say go for it. You dont see civics like this still in good shape. You might be better off going and just buying another engine instead of re building that one. Unless you are able to do the rebuild on your own.
I just picked up one just like that !!! 150 bucks and had been sitting in a field for 5 years!
check out my build on it, I opted to swap out the old tired smokey engine for a d16a6, dropped it in this morning

mine is 4 speed and slow as hell lol. adding some no smoke just to get by while saving for the rebuild/new engine trans swap if someone might have one up for grabs soon
just get a swap for now. Pick up a good d16a6 and bolt it up to the dpfi set up. That'll get you mobile first. Then do a I/H/E and the MPFI upgrade afterwards.
