Going to the track in a few hours and will be running the car on a 22x8x13 inch M&H slick. This is my first time running a full slick and am wondering what I should do as far as tire pressure? I am currently on stock axles with a twin disc. Im only gonna be running on pump gas tonight around 460 hp. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
we run around 6-7psi preload and slip clutch as needed
but those slicks are just about to small for your power , what tranny is in the car u might run out of gear, id sejest a 24.5x7x13

I am running a LS trans and i will be buying 24.5's when i burn these up. These tires are brand new so they are fresh. 6-7 psi is what i should start with? Or should I work my way down to that from say 12 psi?

Youre more likely to snap axles on drag radials. Slicks have a nice soft sidewall that gives, and takes the load off of the axles, as well as keeps you from wheel hopping.

Its all about preloading and driving ive been on the same stock axles for over a year with alot of street time on 235s and multiple 9&10 second passes..
Good Luck!
Interesting..I didn't think about the sidewall having that effect, but I suppose that is true..

R/T .648
60' 1.757
330 5.809
1/8 7.956
mph 93.01
Was on a set of m&h 22 inch slicks car is making 454 whp, I was having trouble with the trans 3rd gear (stock trans from 94). All in all I had a good night did consistent 1.8 60 fts and got to get a feel for the car on slicks. With more seat time I hope to bring the times down now im ready to bring it out on 24.5s and my race gas tune.

That's been my fear the whole time and kept me from going to the track, drag radials on a fwd honda are good for the street but ill only ever run slicks at the track. I had zero worries about the axles after I made a few passes.
Dave and bruce are the man, They helps us out at Gainesville when we brought anthony car down, let us use air and tire pressure gauge etc.
Glad you had fun buddy slicks are a whole new experience.

Looking at gear sets and 24.5's already. 3500(albins) is too much for a gear set for me right now. Im thinking I would like to find a used GSR gearset, get brand new syncros and rebuild the trans, and figure out what exactly I need to put the GSR gearset into my LS case. I want to keep my LS case because I already have a helical LSD in my trans, and dont want to have to buy another one. Im havin dog box dreams though lol.
