i have been hearing "REAL ROTAs" for years. buddy use to say it all the time. he had fake ones... nippons if i remember correctly. wtf is the difference? all fake.

agreed. If a knockoff looks just as good id rather get the knock off and spend the money i saved on other parts. Its not like a knockoff rim will perform any different

rota subzero of same size is 16.8 lbs and much weaker cuz low density alluminum not forged luke racing hart is.

whatever lol. i just hate when people refer to rotas or drags as real or "authentic" wheels.
you can refer to rotas as authentic when its their own design... if its a reproduction of more expensive wheel its a knockoff theres no iffs or buts...

and i do have rotas ( had 2 sets actually) but i dont fool myself OR OTHERS into thinking they are authentic or any kind of special...

 

I agree with raverx3m last post, who cares what you rock, some people would rather have the real "original" wheels. Some people are perfectly fine with owning knock off wheels because they were made for one purpose, to look like the real thing with sometimes cheaper materials or the process to make them less expensive. Just don't try to play them off as the real thing. I have polished slips, I'm not going to throw ragamaster stickers on them to claim them as something they arent.

 

I rember seeing some rotas fs on CL a while back
They said "these are real rotas not fake rotas like all the other ones out there so I am asking 800"
They were rota track r's with some cheap triangle tires hahaha
