Now before anything, I know the laws and this is for personal use only. I am the one taking a risk here and I know the dangers involved with having a motion picture playing while driving. This is not for my pleasure but for the passengers in the vehicle with me. Now currently I do have the parking brake on a dual xdvdn9131 hooked up correctly. Pretty soon im taking a long trip out of town and will have passengers with me. I wanted to know if anyone can confirm if my theory is right as far as bypassing this unit. I know it needs to read 3 ground pulses in order for the unit to think the parking brake has been engaged. I was thinking of using a relay instead of an actual switch to bypass the unit. Looking at the relay I started wondering how I can hook it. I came up with this.
86 and 87- ground
85- illumination wire (+)
30- Parking brake wire
Wiring it this way I would turn on and off the parking lights 3 times basically acting as my switch. Itll activate the relay when turned on give a ground pulse then turning the parking light off to show nothing. My thing is that once Ive done it three times I would have to leave the parking lights on in order for the actual video to stay visible. Just wondering what your suggestions are on this setup. IF I AM IN VIOLATION OF ANY FORUM RULES OR JUST PLAIN WRONG FOR PUTTING THIS TOPIC UP PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DELETE IT AND I APOLOGIZE FOR ANY WRONGFUL MISUSE OF THE FORUM. Thanks in advance...
