Default A6 y8 MINI ME Questions

I'm starting my mini me vitara build but have a few questions,

For the mini me here is the plan:

a6 block (vitara pistons, eagle rods)
y8 head
a6 intake mani
a6 dizzy
Gonna run obdo with chipped ps9 for vtec control, gonna need tuned for vtec I know.

Question is with the timing belt and Cam gear.

For the belt:
I've searched and searched and half the people say to use the Y8 timing belt and the other half say the d15b7 belt fits better.

For the cam gear:
Half the people say to use the stock cam gear, and half the people say that I will need an adjustable cam gear to advance(or retard, cant remember) the timing 4 degrees.

Need to hear it from people who have actually done this swap or seen it done,

WHICH BELT WAS USED AND WHAT CAM GEAR?

Thanks in advance for your help.

using the a6 block keep the stock y8 cam gear. please do your self a favor convert to obd1 for the tuning because you'll NEED more than just vtec tuning when you're boosted. again using the a6 block use the y8 timing belt. the crank gear is the same through out a6-z6-y8. also use a z6 manifold minimum for better air flow.

you do realize that the Vitara pistons in the A6 block with Y8 head will drop your compression ratio down to about 7.5:1?

Kid - there are plenty of D-Series compression calculators that will help you get in the ball park with your mix and matching. Google it up and take it from there.

Cool, thanks for the info. I am aware that I will need tuning when I am boosted. i will be running Turboedit and tuning on that. Not too worried about the boosted part as I've done it before, Just wanted info on the mini me setup. Thanks.
