valve seats chipping
what are you guys doing and were are you getting your machine work done at to get valve seats fixed? and what is the main cause of them doing this? about half the intake valve seats have big chips missing.
Do you know the spring pressures? What cams?
The reason I ask is because if the spring it too stiff, if you have valve float, or if you're over revving the engine you can beat up the seats pretty bad. You'll see a lot of people switching the valve seats to a softer metal, like bronze, to promote seal and prevent issues like this.

were ever i send the head im going to have the spring pressure ck. type r cams. shifted at 10k and had prob 40-50 hits on the motor. little bit of dyno time. how much life do you get out of softer seats? or does the use of race gas help with the lead?
we had similar problem exhaust valve spring were too soft and valves were floating and the seat was moving since the valve was hitting the seat since it was not controled by the spring
