my question is why would it run this way on the p30 and not my p28 ive and 2 different ecus and tried 2 chips. and yes my knock sensor was wired up (car was like this when i got it). the only reason i can think of is the fuel map cause my car black smokes badly under hard acceleration no smoke was present with the p30 whatsoever it also idles properly. My question is should i just order another chip with the p30 map on it or just purchase a p30 ecu

 

The P28 needs a tune, its not optimized for that engine in its current setup.

 

do you even know what a chipped p28 is?

 

Sounds like the maps you're getting are bunk. If you're dead set on running the P28 then you just might want to take it to a tuner. At the very least to have them look at your maps.

 

there is no one local and i dont have money for that as it is right now lol.

 

Then your choices are limited. Save up for the P30.

 

Get it tuned! if you already have a chipped and socketed P28....then why waste your money on a stock ECU.... I'm sure there are plenty of places in TX that could take care of it....

 

How hard is it to get a tuned p73 basemap with basic bolt-ons? Since it is already chipped, most you'll spend is $20+ shipping if you can't find it locally.

 

the closest place i would trust is over 100 miles away

 

it has a phearable p73 map on it now and runs like crap

 

When I build my engine this summer I'll have to travel twice that.

 

I drove about the same to get mine done....well worth it!
