and you used plasti-gauge to check your bearing clearances?
new oil pump/housing? lubricated before installation?
rings aren't going to effect oil pressure. but the bearings will

Did you break the motor in yet? If not you need to. Sitting there and running it and reving it to 2k rpms is not doing it any favors. You need to break it in hard to get the rings to seat before your SOL and have to rebuild it again.

You're an idiot...glad I got that out of the way.

If on a fresh engine you have idled it at 2000 rpms for 20-30 minutes and let cool down followed by a fresh oil change....and you still have low oil pressure, I would check the pick up tube for blockage from bottom of the pan. If you have the proper clearance then check your rods and mains for spinning.

Report back.

Kindly tell me how I'm an idiot?

Telling him to break the motor in before the piston rings ware out the honing from letting it sit and idle with light revs for forever and a day is nothing more than advice based on my own personal f*ck ups.

After it has been started once and allowed to reach full temp from only idleing it needs to cool, then change the oil, then start it and go break it in, not start it and rev it a little bit in the driveway.

So I'd like to know how I'm an idiot...I'm waiting

Your idle time is all it needs...after that you can drive it normal, dyno it, beat it, auto cross it...whatever. You live in a world that thinks piston rings "seat" lololol....they don't, they shave down to meet the cylinder walls and that's it. The rings never "seat", they will always rotate the entire life of the engine.

Build more than 1 or 2 engines before giving advice.

So how long does it take for the piston rings to line up in your engines and cause compression leaks since they rotate?

Piston rings shave down to a degree, but they also smooth out the honing on the cylinder walls when they are seating. Yes I use the term seating like everyone else. Why, because its a general term that most people recognize.

So yea I live in a world where 98% of people use the term seating and only about 10% know the real meaning behind the buzz term. Welcome to reality. Not everyone has an expert e-mechanic degree like yourself.

Long enough for sludge to build up from poor maintenance and coat everything in gunk.
