Ah... How loud should valves be? Should they tick a little? None?

 

When I had my old ZC the valves ticked a lot. I adjusted the valves to spec and they still made noise. I had a mechanic friend adjust them as well and he couldn't get them to stop making noise. A couple of friends I know have ZCs that have a lot of valvetrain noise as well. But then I have heard other ZCs that have no valvetrain noise. I guess it depends on how well the motor was taken care of before it came here to the states.

 

Thats just the sound of a 10+ year old motor getting happy heh.

It only does it when it's hot, which makes no sense to me at all. When it's hot things have expanded....it doesn't do it all the time either....mostly after a hard pull to redline. Oh well, it's not the first car that I've owned that had noisy valves. I'll just put in some new hydraulic lifters. That will help...
