1.6 vs 1.8 clutches.. are they the same or different?
Hey,
My friend was saying that my clutch is slipping and I only have to lift my foot off my clutch pedal off 1 inch and it is kinda engage already or something. He says most ppl your supposed ot lift the foot off about 2 inches off the floor (i'm sorry if this doesn't make sense)
Well anyways, the clutch i had put in had about 80% life or so left, but it was a b16 clutch, my motor is a b18b.
I've heard rumors that the b18b/c clutches are different from the b16 clutches, and that the more tork of the 1.8 liter will slowly eat away the 1.6 liter clutch.
Is this true? Is this why my 80% life left clutch is slipping? Is there any difference between b16a/ b18b/b18c1/b18c5 clutches?

i know there interchangeable, but is one type of oem clutch stronger then the other oem clutches? (staying to bseries)
I noticed people buying R clutches, are they really better then Gsr clutches? or is it because its another R fad?
So basically. i'm just wondering if B16a2 clutch = b18b clutch
as they both grip as good as each other (assuming both have X amount of hp, and X amount of torque)

I don't know if they are comparable. All honda clutches wear easily and don't take a lot of power. You would think the ITR clutch would be the strongest, but I don't know. Buy an aftermarket clutch, i think most aftermarket producers only make b-series clutches, no specific strength for ITR, Si, GSR etc.
ah okay, hmmm
i was just trying to see which oem clutch was the strongest and the weakest. Guess i'll never know. ( I've just heard a lot of rumors the oem b16 clutches were the weakest.)
Im trying to figure out if my clutch is slipping because of the added tork of the 1.8...
oh wells...

Go to the honda dealer and get the part number for a 99 SI clutch, then go to the Acura Dealer and get the part numbers for an LS, GSR, and Type-R. Compare the part numbers. This will answer your question. So there is still hope, and you will find out...
Let me know what find out, i'm kind of interested in knowing...
