Clutch
My sister got a GSR a while back, I just got to drive it today. The clutch is totally different than mine. Its a lot harder to push in, which leads me to believe it may have an aftermarket clutch. The other thing is that is engauges very late when I'm letting off the clutch. Is this normal for an aftermarket clutch? Or is her clutch going out?
My stock clutch in my GSR is a lot softer and engauges a lot sooner when letting off the clutch.
I don't know what a bad clutch feels like or acts like, so if someone could inform me.
I talked to a friend he said its slipping.
I also called around a few places, The Clutch Doctor, advised me not a get a ACT clutch because its just a renamed Daiken clutch.
Daiken = Excedy right? Daiken is OEM parts?
Anyway clutch doctor said $430 installed stock clutch.
Thanks

To test a slipping clutch, get on the freeway, go about 55, have it in 5th, and floor it. If the clutch is slipping, the RPMs will go up without accelerating. If there is no delay, the clutch isn't slipping.
As for ACT clutches, whoever told you that has no clue what they're saying. They're just trying to sell you a clutch from them. ACT clutches are some of the best clutches out there, and in no way compare to any OEM clutch. The difference is day & night!

oh ya her GSR has 81k on it. Mine at 66k.
Wouldn't I want to bleed the clutch if the pedal feel was soft? I thought the purpose of bleeding was to get air out of system, which creates soft pedal.

ACT uses Daiken pressure plates right? My other friend told me this, he is very knowledgable.
The clutch dotor guy was trying to sell me a Centerforce/ South Bend something.
I figured that what he was trying to do.
