Loud clicking gone...quieter clicking noise left behind.
I have a Canadian 1994 Civic Si Coupe. So an EX for the boys south of the boarder. I replaced the Passenger side CV because of a loud clicking noise when turning. Now what is left is a softer clicking noise that is most noticeable inside the car and when turning. What way I turn dosen't seem to matter. The car sat for a while and the front rotors are pretty rusted and make grinding noises when braking. Any one have brakes make noises like this when badly rusted? Or if you have any other Ideas please feel free to volunteer your info. The car just passed a safety test so I am assuming the suspension is good.
Thanks
Thanks
most safety tests dont do much suspension testing...normally the check the ball joints/tie rods, (by pressing on the tire top and bottom and side to side) then check tire depth...and then just look underneath for rips/leaks/etc...
alot of times depends on rims, alot of mechanics just reach the gauge in...to check the remaining brake life.... not pull the tire off and open the caliper.
A friend of mine passed an inspection with a frozen caliper....but meaty brake pads.
Either way...sounds like an axle...

Well started the brakes but before I got too far I put the car on jack stands and ran it in first gear while turning the wheel lock to lock...
The new drive shaft was defective... A visible wobble and noise from the inner cv joint.
Thanks again for all the help
