This may be a dumb question, but would there be any benifit to putting a D16Z6 Intake Manifold on my D15B7?

The best D series manifold is the Y8 one. I believe the manis on B7s and Z6s are pretty similar, can anyone confirm this?

Is the Y8 one compatible?

Yeah, pretty much all of the d series ones are interchangeable. I think the D16a might be different, but anything 1992-2000 will definitely work. There are some good write-ups for the swap if you google.

What are your goals though, I went from a Y7 mani to Y8 (like the worst to the best) and I think I felt improvements in throttle response and maybe a little mid range boost but definitely don't expect any serious gains more than maybe 2 HP or something.

some times problems occur when mating a pre 95 and a newer y8 manifold because the coolant hole changed from square to round and it doesn't seal properly. usually putting alil rtv around the coolant hole can help this problem. it is possible and will bolt up no problem. IAT sensor is differnt then the y8 one though.

It's possible but only problem i see is Alignment of coolant holes.

IACV of d16z6 are on mani so are D15b7 so you should be good. if you get a y7, the IACV are on the TB so that could be a problem

go with the z6 manifold easier swap and you might notice a 2-3 hp gain mid range 4-6k ... dont believe the hype of the y8 manifold bigger plenum is better the more airflow is better it cools the air blah blah blah. not worth it i could go on forever 88-95 z6 manifold 96-00 y8 manifold just the way heads and ports are designed and so on

i think you felt your labor and money being wasted. lol
its not worth screwing with unless you trying to build something, without turbo and tune its a waste.
