MOTOR SCREAMING when slowing or stopped
I have a 99 civic with the 1.6l sohc manual transmission and i am trying to find out why it makes a screaming noise when slowing or stopped. It didnt start until i used my a/c for the first couple times and when i turn it on it sort of quietes a bit but not totally. The air is still ice cold and blows great so i dont know what it could be with the a/c unit. Some said it may be a throw out bearing but i have the slightest clue. It almost sounds like a grinding or something but if the a/c kicks on it slows a bit. Any answers and i know this isnt much to go off of

Re: MOTOR SCREAMING
Ive got the same problem. When downshifting to like 2nd it will make like a whining noise. When Im at idle I can push the clutch in and the car is significantly quieter. Its the throw out bearing if it does this. My tranny is also super quiet at low rpm then when I get to like 2500 it starts making a whining sound that is pretty loud. Im assuming this is my throw out bearing as well but not too sure. Change it out to see if it helps. Good Luck.
