ls-vtec bogs down/cuts out at 6000 rpm
okay so i have a 95 civic dx with a b18a1 block gsr head b16 pistons im/e p05 ecu. motor has about 1700 miles on it. so i changed the oil yesturday and rite after i took it out and on the way home from honda i was in 3rd vtec hit at 5k like always but when it got to 6 where i really feel the power band it just fell on its face, completely bogged out. speedometer dropped to 0 no codes or anything. so i take my foot off the gas rpms drop and everythings fine untill i get back up to 6000 rpm. 1st gear however i can rev it out to 8000 no problem 2 gear it cuts out alittle after 5 and 3rd its 6 the problem first happened in 3rd.
if anyone has any idea what this could be i would greately appreaciate it i would also like you to know the car is untuned im waiting till i get my cams to tune it
thanks

yeah its chipped and i dont have a vtec controller. could this problem be a bad distributor? i changed the plugs and wires im gonna change the fuel filter tomorrow and inspect every single electrical connection and wire in the bay cause to me it seems like an electrical problem but i dont know i wanna start with little **** before i change the distributor

yeah i fixed it. it was the vehicle speed sensor it was cutting out cause the speedo would drop to 0 and the launch control i guess it thought the car wasnt moving because it reads off the vehicle speed sensor so it cut the fuel and would bog down until the rpms got below 3500 than would give it fuel again. it did this until the speed sensor completely stopped working and the tac would go to 3500 and hit launch control in gear until the check engine light comes on and it bypasses i think launch control because it doesnt work after that not even in idle you can rev it rite to redline so yeah its the vehicle speed sensor cel code 17 idk if its the exact same problem as yours but it took me so long to diagnose it but i hope it helps
