Default 94' Del Sol Won't Start -Electrical Prob., Car Will Jump

I have a 94' Del Sol that has been running fine till sunday morning, I turned the key and it wouldn't start. The lights and radio all worked but I did not get the tell tale starter click, or an attempt at turning the engine over. I shorted the starter a few hours ago and it started right up and ran with no problem. I'm guessing that means it has to be an electrical problem somewhere in the ignition circuit and I'm not sure where to start.
Tomorrow I'm going to see if advanced auto can pull a code or two since I can start it again. If anyone has any ideas of what to check or what could be happening I'd appreciate it.

Start by checking the rubber stopper (red arrow) that presses on the starter switch located at the top of the clutch pedal:

Thanks! That was it. I looked in the area and the rubber stopper was completely missing. Not a trace of it. I've already had to replace one for the brake pedal. I have on more interesting problem though. Now the engine turns over and over but the car won't start - like it isn't getting gas. I have a half tank still... I'm about to check the fuel filter to see if it's plugged or what-not. I'll post what's going on when I've finished.

Ok, I've checked all 4 plugs for spark and they are ok. I also pulled the injectors and they are spraying fuel. I'm going to check the timing tomorrow but that's the only thing I can think of off the top of my head. Any ideas?

Check the mechanical timing and cylinder compressions.

I feel a bit special at the moment but thanks for all your help, it's running again. I was checking the distributor and all for timing and carbon deposits or anything to indicate it was bad when I thought to double check the clutch switch in case I knocked something out down there and I had forgotten to reattach a ground for 3 wires that I unscrewed to give me a little more access to the clutch pedal. It started right up several times in a row no prob. Thanks again guys.
