Exhaust Crush Gasket Rings
crush gasket rings between the flanges.
I have a slight leak between the cat and resonator
I guess I should have tried using gasket adhesive to keep the ring in place because the joint didnt have the normal male female little 1/8th inch of pipe that aligns it like the rear muffler to resonator connection did.
the flanges were not really flush ... that was probably the problem but i cranked them pretty good with my half inch impact.
so what do you guys think is it worth trying it again or should I just not care?
The car only makes a little noise when I get on it but not if I am in the driveway.
These things dont have to melt do they?
havin the same problem chicken, i don't know if this is a recent change but the last time i got a gasket it was flat with the three holes for the bolts. now, as i have a japspeed de-cat i tried to get one from them but no joy, they don't sell them individually. there seems to be no real recess for the gasket to sit in so just get some exhaust gum and try to stick it where it should go and hopefully tighten up the bolts without the bugger moving. good luck
I just did this on my crx. Both flanges need to flat, use a file and hammer if necessary. Some never-seize on the gasket works great to hold it and might let you re-use it in the future. The impact may have warped the surface, I would tighten them by hand.
