Aftermarket Exhaust? Don't have a flexible gasket? Use aluminum foil!!!!!
So i bought a catback and apparently the guy that had the car before me had new pipes made, and it was all one piece. There are 2 ring gaskets, called flexible gaskets you use to connect the pipes. I didn't have it obviously, so guess what. We used aluminum foil. We wrapped it around like a gasket and it just molded to the pipes. We connected the 2 and bam, it worked fantasticly. No exhaust leaks, nothing. It was amazing. And the best part is, the idea came from the ITR forum. Haha, go hondatech.!!!!

the actual gasket is the same concept. it creates a seal so exhaust gases don't leak. I think this is going to work just fabulously. If not, then ill get a gasket.

its in between the 2 pipes, the pipe where the s is, and the pipe straight pipe. i used the actual gaskets they sent to connect the pipes, this is just the ceramic ring thing that goes on it. we had the actual ring gasket to connect the exhaust manifold to the cat. its the same piece. we just ghettod the other one bc it wasnt as important . works great.

Same concept, different materials. That foil trick of yours might work for a little while. I'd suggest ordering a real gasket soon though. Nothing more annoying than an exhaust leak.
for thinking of alternative ways of doing stuff though. If you had some tin snips you could have cut yourself a new gasket out of a soda can too.
