Oh, yes, well the Potenza S03 is an excellent tire. Great grip of course and decent ride and noise for a performance tire. I don't know of anyone who would hesitate to recommend this tire. What it really comes down to is what else are you considering. Like the Azenis or Comp T/A K/Ds will have more absolute grip but not last as long.

 

He's asking about your spacing setup with a wide wheel/tire and the use of spacers and longer wheel studs.

 

Oh, well, that worked, but was a band-aid solution for a temporary problem (225/50-15s on 15x6.5" wheels). I'd much rather have a proper wheel offset than a spacer. The long studs are nice and strong and chicks love them but are not necessary with a proper wheel.

 

How hard was it getting the 225's on the 6.5" wheel? I thought you had 7" wide Kosei wheels.

Not to answer for Dave, but the wheels you now have had the 225s on them. There was rubbing somewhere on the inside, so he had to use spacers, which necessitated the use of longer wheel studs, as the lugnuts didn't have enough threads to hold on to. With the Koseis (which are 7" wide), they aren't necessary...but like the man said, the chicks certainly do dig it. *guffaw*

The spacers were required to avoid the 225 tires rubbing on the top of the rear kunckle with the 15x6.5 (dunno offset) Prelude wheels. When I put the 225 tires on a 15x7 .38 ET Kosei K1 there was plent of clearance. No rubbing and no spacer required... BUT the tires stick out about 1/4" past the fenders and rub under full compression. A 15x7 .45 ET whell may clear the fender with a 225 tire, but might rub the knuckle. Oh and this all depends on the year/model car. So ummm this entire thread and answer is useless 'cause the a car has not be specified.

 

NO MAN, its all depends not so much the width but a combo of the width of wheel and the offset, i am running 225's w/o the need for spacers now

 

sorry i tought i say the model, is an accord LX 95 4 doors. Would you think that the best way without problems would be a 205 tire?

Oh, well, I'm not sure if the 4th and 5th gen suspensions are identical or not.
You're going to have to find a 5th gen owner who has the exact tire/wheel combo you want and see if it works. I wonder who referred you to me...

but i have a 5th gen 2dr ex im running 225/45/16 16x7" wheels with a +45 offset, no rubbing (mind you i have no plastic fender liners up front) i will be going to a 16x7.5" or 8" width with a +42 offset eventually (if i can find such a inexpensive beast)
