Default Misc Questions - 11:5 Comp - Boost - Meth - Vortech

Alright so i have a few misc questions and wanted to run my set-up by ya and see what you thought should be changed or could be an issue. All advice & info is appreciated.

First question, what would my overall compression be with the following motor? I have a stock type r engine now but just purchased the block below to be a bit more sturdy for boost and am going to use my Type r head with it.

B18C1
cp pistons- 11:5 comp
carrillo rods
type r crank
type r pumps
inline pro block guard
arp headstuds
gates timing belt
oem head-gasket

Type R Head

-now the head is stock as far as valves and such goes, i figured while its off i might as well have it inspected and maybe replace the valves...thoughts?

Rest of the set-up is:
-Jdm type r tranny 4.7 final drive
-import builders ported itr intake manifold
-70mm throttle body
-skunk2 stage 1 camshafts
-skunk2 6 bolt cam gears
-narrow header converted to 3" exit
-3" exhaust w/3" electronic cut out
-act 6 puck/sprung clutch
-act street light flywheel

-vortech supercharger high output kit
-10 & 15psi pulley set-up "would like to just go for the 15psi set-up and call it a day"
-5 gallon water cell in trunk
-28x8x3 front mount heat exchanger
-vortech power cooler
-vortech b.o.v

-aem fuel rail
-walbro 255
-aeromotive inline fuel filter
-1000cc ID injectors
-AEM meth/water injection kit

-hondata s200>may consider moving to s300 sense the boost option on this s200 isnt unlocked and believe its $150 just to unlock it/upgrade

I believe that just about sums up the motor/fuel/drive-train minus a few odd ends here and there.

Essentially im curious if you think this compression and 93 pump gas+water/meth would be safe to run at a 15psi set-up. Obviously ill need a good tune and will research a tuner before hand when the time comes. Id love to just go e85 but theres only 2 gas stations around here the even sell it and both are 20+ minutes away. This is not a daily driver but id like to drive it as much as i can/want when its finally finished.

Sense im limited to belts and pulleys with the s/c i figured id try to make the most out of what i can. The higher comp motor should make more power at lower boost levels than a typical build and the meth/water will hopefully keep it from detonating or give me tuner some room to breathe. Goal is to make as much power as i can while keeping it reliable "if possible ha" with the 15psi set-up. To my knowledge i cant even run more than 15psi without a custom pulley. So for now id like to get the most out of a 15psi set-up.

Also, can arp head-studs be re-used so long as there not stretched? Highly recommended against or not a big deal?

What kind of meth/water mix do you think ill need to run? Or leave this for the tuner to decide?

Thanks guys, i appreciate the info, knowledge & opinions. Look forward to completing this build and getting this del slo back on the road.

Upgrade to s300 and call it a day: http://www.phearable.net/shoppingcar...ages-p-39.html

Concerning the setup, I would say 15 psi with meth/93 would be ok on 11.0:1
11.5:1 is doable but will require a cautious tuner :-)

ok, recommend maybe a thicker head gasket than oem to lower the comp just a tad? or keep it oem honda?

any idea what the comp would be with a type R head..would it be higher/lower with this combo or?

I couldnt see a thicker HG make a huge difference but i guess i will help a bit. Like said make sure you use a good tuner.

The type r head would lower the C/R over the GSR. But again it isnt going to make a huge difference...

ok cool, thanks bud, appreciate the info

any recommendations on which spark plug to run/Recommended heat range...?

-forgot to mention for ignition i am using msd box w/external coil, cap, rotor & wires....i know people tend to hate on msd but honestly "knock on wood" i haven't had any issues with it so Ive never felt it necessary to go back to stock.

I'd start off with a NGK 8 heat range and see how they look. You'll probably end up sticking with them. Just look for a popular resistor plug if your using the s300. If your not using the s300 the get a set of NGK R5671A-8.

Keep your ignition stuff if you've had no problem. If its not broken dont fix it
