Is my fuel pressure too low??? AEM FPR
Per my helms manuel, the fuel pressure on a b18c1 with the vacume hose removed from the intake manifold should be 48-55psi
right now mine reads 40psi... I have an AEM adj FPR but I can't seem to adjust it enough to raise the pressure more.
Could it be a dirty fuel filter?
Has anyone else with an AEM FPR had a similar experience?

That pressure is what the pump puts out, if you want to know what the FPR is "allowing" the gauge needs to be on the fuel rail.
When was the last time fuel filter was changed? 94

I'm not sure when the fuel filter was changed last.
In the helms manuel it says with the gauge at the fuel service port (and shows a pic of the guage right above the fuel filter) pressure should be 48-55 with the vac hose disconnected.
What you're syaing makes sense but why isn;t it consistent with the manuel? im confused

The manual is for checking fuel pressure of the pump, not what the FPR is allowing to the fuel rail.
If fuel pressure from the pump is low then most likely the pump is bad or the fuel gauge you have is not accurate, I would change the fuel filter befor I do anything else. 94
