JDM H22A Engine noise

My son's car popped the balancing shaft seal and drove the car home about 1 mile. We had the belts and seals, and waterpump replaced but now the car is making a stange sound. Took it back up to our Honda mechanic but could not diagnose the noise unless he ripped into the engine. Have read about balance shaft damage after this has happened and that you can drive the car without the balance shaft belt installed or install the delete kit.
I have some friends coming over to listen to the noise. I am pretty stumped since it really does not sound like a rod knock or piston slap. Going to check the oil pressure and drain the oil through cheese cloth to see if any bearing damage is evident, but anyone have any other ideas or experience with this issue.
Thanks.
Update: Hooked up a mechanical oil pressure gauge to see how the oil pressure was doing. At 1000 rpm the gauge is reading 18-20 psi and when the motor is reved to 2500 rpm the gauge is reading 50 psi. The idle oil pressure seems low to me but the pressure at 2500 matches what the haynes manual calls out.
Also checked for exhaust leaks. Nothing found.
Will try and take a video to post the noise.
