I recently purchased a 1996 Civic EX (Canadian model). How can I tell if I have keyless entry? I did not receive any remotes with the car. Also, when I turn the wipers on it can take up to 10-15 seconds for them to start working but if I pull the stalk down to use the mist feature they work immediately.

 

The keyless system is built into the stock radio. If it's gone, so is the keyless system.

Lights: Remove the combination switch, take it apart, and clean the contact points. Danomatic93 created a nice DIY thread about this.

 

I still have the factory stereo in the car. According to my owner's manual the keyless entry was an option on Canadian EX models but was standard on US EX models. The car does have ABS, which I believe was option on all Canadian models. Was the keyless entry system grouped with the ABS option perhaps?

I see that there is a LED on the lower right corner of the faceplate. Does this mean I have the remote entry/alarm?
