correct distributor for a y8?

Default correct distributor for a y8?

my car has a y7 block with a y8 head but the distributor is a TD-80U is that the correct distributor for for the y8? if not would it cause any running problems or just not engage into vtec?

You would be correct, that is the Y8 distributor. Part Number 30100-P2E-A02

Any dizzy would work, vtec is not activated by the dizzy. I would keep the obd2 dizzy because the crank sensor is not in the dizzy but y the oil pump.
