its going to be hard on an lx engine with a 2000 dollar budget. So if your trying to hit 14's with 2k i would suggest nitrous. Buy an NX Wet Kit 75 shot, Crane Ingition, colder plugs that might put you in the high 14's or low 15's. Honestly if your trying to be fast you got the wrong car. Not trying to hack on civics because i used to have an ex. I would save for an engine swap Get an H22A prelude motor and you should be good to go and have a wonderful base for upgrading. Besides that would get you into the 14's no problem. Now throw some nitrous or a Supercharger on the prelude engine and your talking a serious street car since the civic is so light.
IM me at Ryancoop48 if you need more ideas or have questions!

maybe try the RSX motor, i don't know how easy an H22 swap would be. a lot of work is involved in the RSX swap. my friend has a 2k1 civic and he has been checking into it. but $2000 is not enough for either. it always costs more than you expect. good luck dude!
build a custom it and save money.... homemadeturbo.com
i forgot to mention that $2000 wasnt going to be the exact spent money of course..
but putting the the 2G's towards the turbo is what i meant!
im pretty sure u can get an LX flying though, but then again im asking for the help!

well come up with another 4 G's and you will have a extreamly reliable and safe car. Assuming you get like a drag kit. but when you think about that your spending 6 thousand dollars man. I would really save for a DOHC motor B18C, or H22A. You should be able to pick up a H22a for $3k. Then supercharge it you will be in the low 13's. Same money spent but you will be faster.
are there even kits available for the new civics yet? with the exhaust manifold in the back...that looks like fun... and the returnless fuel system...is there a ECU hack for boost yet?
