i swapping my d16a6 with a y8 head to a full y8 motor and i would like to know, what all needs to be changed? the reason for doing so is, this car i picked had spun a rod bearing in it and im just droppin a new motor in it, so is everything gonna interchange or what?

If it's a 96 it should have started life with a Y8 in it. If you have a Y8 head then nothing should need to be done.
