D15B - What oil and fuel should I use?
New to having a jdm motor. So just the other day, traded my bone stock point a to b integra for a JDM D15B swapped del sol. Im wondering what oil is needed to be ran in it? Motors from Tiger Japanese and doesnt have no more than 32k miles on it. But never asked the guy if he ran synthetic or not. And what ive been told if the motor has been ran on non/or synthetic that its not good to swap to the other because of the seals. But i also am wondering what is to be ran in it, cause i dont know if its any different like with the octance level to use in it.
I totally effed the title up. Know what octane level to run....just wasnt to sure on the oil level. Know it was to be 5w but didnt know if 5w20 or 5w30. I ran 10w30 in my ls only because it had high miles but if ita been low it woulda been 5w30. Just wasnt to too sure about what oil since it being a jspec motor. But thanks for the help their folks
But why would i run 87? 87 would make that car run like poop and get terrible gas mileage. In japan their 87 is like 102. I can get 100 octane on the way to my gf house but i just dont feel like paying near 6 dollars a gallon. And wouldnt running 87 fry the rings out?
No.

5w-30. It's a honda- has tight clearances- thinner oil reaches the bearings and top end quicker on startup. Being a car the oil runs cooler than in a motorcycle (higher sustained rpms and such) so the 15-40 is unnecessary and takes more power from the engine to pump. Of course, if all you do is run it on a road racing course then I think it'd be good to run the thicker oil (as it thins out a bit at the high temperatures seen in racing).
