Hey forum.

I need some help. My fifth gen's shifter just went loose. It goes into all gears except 1st and reverse, is it my syncros?? Or what thx for your responses

 

Pull your center console out and expose the shift linkage, sounds like something there, or possibly right at the transmission has came undone or a bushing has fell out and isn't giving you range of motion. After installing a short throw shifter in my car in a hurry, I carelessly left one of the shift cables loose from the bracket it snaps in on top of the base at the shifted and I had no reverse because there was too much play for it to correctly pull on the levers of the transmission

 

alright yea, instantly i assumed it was probably just the bushings or i knocked something off loose, im hoping thats all it is, thx for your help

 

It could just be the bushings, either way once you figure it out let us know.

 

Yea im gonna flush her first and then check the cable connections
