Default Wiper problem

When I bought my car, the green wire by the driver side firewall was cut, I re attached and found out why, even with the switch off, the wipers would stay on. So I replaced the wiper switch, and it worked perfectly for about a month. Just last night, I was turning the wipers on then off just to clear a few drops off. Then suddenly when it was off, it would start wiping again.. does anybody have any idea what's going on here? I don't want to keep buying wiper switches

93 hatchback? So do the wipers run on intermittent, low, or high speed? If you unplug the wiper switch plug, do the wipers stop running?

I have not tried that yet, would that be the diagnosis of a bad switch?

Do the test, post the results, and we'll go from there.

Well, the intermittent speeds weren't really that different when the switch was working "right", but right now its stuck on low speed

93 hatchback? Before you replaced the switch, was it also stuck on low speed?

That's a different boat. If you want help, please make your own thread.

I took apart the switch, there is a little arm that slides a plastic piece with 2 electrical connections on it when you switch from Off/Slow/Fast. The little arm was broken. Looks like I just need to go buy another switch and inspect that little arm before I buy it.
