hey whats up guys. i have a 91 EF and its currently on stock suspesnsion. i recently bought aftermarket suspesnsion for my car. tokico whites for the fronts and tokico blues for the rear, on eibach lowering springs. now when i bought it, it didnt come with top hats, it was just the springs and the struts. now my question is, will i be able to use my OEM top hats thats currently on my car? do i have to buy specific top hats that will fit my suspension? or do i even need one

You need 4. Do you even know what "top hats" (I hate that term, it's incorrect and meaningless) do? Of course you need upper shock mounts. You can't attach the suspension without them.

Google search for "top hat", and then search for "upper shock mount", and report back on which returns more relevant results.

The part in question is the upper mount for the shock. It is also the upper spring seat (for most, but not all, Honda cars). In no way, shape, or form, is it a "hat" of any kind. It doesn't go on your head.

You're essentially saying you prefer oem shocks in the rear. Blues are OE replacements.

Top hat works just fine as term and shoudn't be used for OE flat mounts. Where it makes sense is for the shock extending mounts that actually look like top hats.

 

does it matter what year i use? like can i use EK ones?

 

How about ones that fit?

 

All 'BASE, SHOCK ABSORBER MOUNTING' Civic 88-00 and ITr 90-01 are all the same.
