Post 1997 honda acoord lx over heating

Over heating this is what I have done so far. New Therm and gasget , New Timimng Belt, New Water Pump. Flushed raditor and bled it. Put antifreez in raditor and resivor.
All fuse are working and relays are good. Both fans work. I have checked for leaks and have not found any.
One thing I have noticed is when I first got this car about a year ago when ever I would shut off the car the fan would always turn on. Now that I have an over heating problem it doesn't turn on when car is off. But it does turn on when the needle is on the half way mark. but not always both fans most of the time it's just the radiator fan. Why has this change? I also have looked at the radiator what I can see and it looks like its as gaps someone said its corotuion. I also have filled up the resivor and check it whenin 10mins and its empty and I look under the car and no antifreez on ground.
So what should I do change radiator or just the cap.

I'm going to wager you still have air bubbles in the coolant......

With the AC on, you should see BOTH fans cycle on and off. With AC off, you should just see one of the fans cycle on and off. So just park the car, turn on the AC and let it idle, have the hood popped and watch the fans. If they do not cycle on then you have problems - either with a relay, sensor, or the fans themselves.

*edit* And what kinda of coolant did you put in and how did you bleed it? What brand water pump and who put it in?

my fiance did this he owns a couple of honda he knows whats he doing I only but honda parts water pump.
The car only overheats but just bearly gets to the half way mark. I also have filled up the resivor and check it whenin 10mins and its empty and I look under the car and no antifreez on ground. So the raiator cap is working right.
I check the radiator in at 5am before my 30 min ride to work and it is full but my resivor I need to a about a cup. Before i use the car to come back home again i check and the radiator is full but I add to the resivor.
I have also checked for sytsom of blown head gasket and none. I think i'm going to change radiator and take it from there.

Janet- I agree with Muffinman, not that he needs that....Please be sure that there is not air in the coolant. Put the heat on max and bleed it. It really sounds like you are bleeding it one cup at a time.

My 95 gets to just below the half mark, that is normal, when it is "warm". My gauge is a "12 to 6" gauge (using a clock).....6 being stone cold, 12 being there are major issue...moves counter clockwise.

take the radiator cap off and top it off then start the car and let it run for about 20 minutes. Watching the temp gauge to not let it over heat. Easiest way to get bubbles out. That or take out your thermostat and let it run for 5 min.

here is my two cents...Im pretty dumb, so this is a no brainer for me. I use this for my bimmer and accord. This is a toy that works, for me at least. Not needed if you know what you are doing.

I agree with others, sound like you are not bleeding correctly. How is the car running? idling okay?

See youtube for eric the car guy videos...he shows a great easy dummies way of bleeding radiator.

When does it overheat. Driving, idling? acceleration, coming off the highway? You gotta provide details.
