Default Boost by gear suggestions

Last week I hit my PB in the Del Sol. This was on 25psi in every gear. I just got my boost by gear setup and would like some feedback on what to start out trying for 1st and 2nd gear. On this run, I was launching at 6400rpm, with about 10psi on the 2-step. Slicks are 25's.

You have lsd and axles im guessing? I would lower the 2step so you dont build that much boost i leave on like 4-5psi that helped me alot and also what suspension do you have? Play with that aswell...

You also have that you are building 10psi off 2step. Do you have antilag setup and if so what are your fuel% and ign retard? Upon boost by gear I thinks important to get the 2step and boost spot on coming off the line

what are some people setups for antilag/2step and how much boost are you building to leave on?

Yes I have an MFactory LSD and DSS axles. Actually, I made a mistake, and I was leaving on about 7psi. It seems that if lower the launch RPM any lower than 6k, it will only build about 2psi of and bog bad off the line. Just to get it to build 7psi at 6400rpm, I have to have an aggresive ignition retard and fuel percentage. It always seems to just kill the tires in first and im all over the limiter. I watch alot of fwd drag videos, and the fastest cars seem to progressively accelerate out of the whole, with almost no tire spin. I rev out 1st gear to about 9k
Suspension is just Blox Drags.

You need to log your rpms, and watch them as you leave off the antilag. If they dip you need to leave on more power. If they spike up or the line is jagged, your leaving on too much power. The idea is for the rpm to flatten out for a sec, then increase.

This is what has worked well for us.

Also our cars that preload, can leave on 20+psi on a med sized turbo.. Cars that don't, normally have to leave on the gate and do better on just a normal two step with out antilag.

Not to get off topic but what brand dyno did you make 650 @ 25psi via a 6262? What is the chassis weight?

Also don't just control boost by gear, control it by rpm ranges as well if you can.

At the track we have found its better to ramp the power in with rpms along with the boost by gear.

I don't recommend you do this but, some cars we have had to deduct timing in first because we could not pull enough boost in first. We had neg effects when we pulled too much however.

Weight with me in it is 2500#. Dyno used is a Superflow Autodyn 30. Thanks for posting up somegood info. It dead hooks 3rd and 4th, its just he first 2 gears I will have to play with. I will play with the launch a bit and ramp the boost per rpm like you stated.

I use to pull low 4.4 330' with 500hp 15psi. car went 10.30's @136mph at that power all the time. I haven't got any full passes with my new setup but I went 4.30 330' adding a bit of boost in second gear.

what is your antilag ign and fuel set at?Did you datalog your runs?
