are there any other alternators i can use?
from k series with rewired plugs?
what about the obd1 legends and vigors etc the v6 engines have a bit more powerfull alternator and it looks like it would bolt right up.
or even accord obd1 alternator?

the pigtail connectors or whatever are different. one's a square, one's a circle. i have an OBD1 b18b1 and when i replaced the alternator, i scored an OBD2 alternator off a GSR for just $40, and i just went to a local junkyard, cut a connector off a OBD2 D series (yes, B series and D series alternator connectors are the same) and looked up the wiring and worked like a charm.
but if you don't want to go through the trouble of buying the pigtail connector, you can buy the OBD1 to OBD2 Alternator Adapter off Rywire

swapping b series alternators is not really an upgrade...
im talking about swapping alternators from different engines such as accord and legend etc that have more powerfull alternators.

the only way to really UPGRADE an alternator is to get it rebuilt to have more amps in it. you can't really swap in another one that has more amps.

so can anyone explain why i cant use an alternator from a v6?
all i see is people repeating eachother "you cant".
ive seen people use a honda b series alternator on a toyota V6 engine and it worked fine and plugged right in.
so why cant i use a legend alternator( that is more powerful) on a b series?

They may look the same to the nake eye... But they won't mount up correctly. Yea sure it'll work with some modifications. But do you really want to go thru all that trouble for this when you can actually get the alternator for your car rebuilt to push out more amps?
