Default Why would you choose an SAFC over a VAFC?

ok I was reading one of the countless HACK threads and... I remember hearing one advantage the SAFC has over the VAFC, and its not related to vtec. I believe it was something like a blue wire trick or something? maybe i was in a hungover haze when I read it, but I cant find it anymore. Does anyone know what Im talking about??

thanks

blue wire mod allows you to get o2 sensor voltage.. or something

monitor your air/fuel ratio on the pretty flourescent screen.

The S-AFC can monitor O2 voltage if you hook the blue wire up to the O2. On a V-AFC, the blue wire does a completely different function(Ithink it's for VTM or something), so you can't hook it up to the O2 to monitor voltage. They're basically the same, so figure out whether you want to monitor O2 voltage, or whether you want to move your VTEC engagement around.

do you guys really move your VTEC engagement points around? just wondering if you are seeing any gains from this......

Some people see a dip in power when VTEC engages, and they move it higher to smooth out their curve.

Why would I want to monitor o2 voltage though? Can I do anything with this data, or manipulate it in any way?

Whoa so you say the blue wire (which is not connected now in the regular install will give me a/f reading.. what kind of reading. Like a greddy a/f gauge number type reading or what?

It seems to me the VAFC is the better choice...Do you agree?
