Default Good deal or bad Idea? 07 Si 360HP opinions please.

So I've got an offer for a used 07 civic Si (sedan) with 39,000 on it, clean record.
Its loaded with:
Garrett T3-T04E Turbo, Hondata FlashPro, Competition stage 4 clutch, 1000cc injectors, Walbro fuel pump, 44mm dumptube, HPC coatings on downpipe, manifold, and turbine housing, 3" Full-Race exhaust, ingalls stiffy torque damperer, 4" cold air intake w-K&N. Wideband, Boost, Oil pressure, and Fuel pressure 52mm gauges, Greddy profec b spec II boost controller, Full-Race Tial 44mm Wastegate and 50mm Q-BOV. Hood, roof, and trunk are matte black-carbon fiber vinyl wrapped.
Its a certified used vehicle, I hate the 07 body style but figure I might be able to talk the dealership into a conversion and exterior paint job, maybe to an 2011 or HPF body style (or 08 mugen Si style if I get REALLY lucky). The car has a dyno sheet dated six months back putting down +350HP on premium pump gas. From what everyone can tell though the engine is not built in anyway.

What do you guys think?
$18,000 for a 07 w/ 39,000 and over 350HP on a boosted engine with stock internals a good deal?
Or a fried engine waiting to happen?

All input appreciated, thanks in advance.

since the dyno a lot could have happened.

do a leakdown and compression check. im really doubtful that you will get the dealer to paint the car or a conversion of any kind.

I would never buy a traded in, stock internals, boosted engine from the dealership. At this point I wouldn't even buy a used built/boosted engine even if the owner detailed his every move, unless I knew him personally.

It could work out just fine, or you could be buying a new motor in the next year.

At the very least, you -know- that motor was beat on somewhat.

Well it's not a certified used car because in order for the car to be certified it has to have all OEM parts on it..it obviously doesn't.. You never wanna buy someone else's project.. you gotta wonder why the person got rid of the car.. you'll never talk the dealer into a conversion or paint job.. I'm gonna say test drive it..beat the **** out of it..and tell the salesman to have a nice day you're not interested..

Thank you for the feedback guys.
I'm in the works of buying it currently. Along with a civic hybrid (not for me of course) lol. I told an buying an Si no older than 07 and civic hybrid no older than 09 so he made it clear he is willing do do a lot.
I'm sure I can get lips added but the other mods I know are pretty fat chance.

I am positive that it is in fact certified used. So it should be covered under some limited warranty.
I really like the car overall, but I've yet to check it out under the hood or drive it, which of course I would before buying as well as a very thorough check of everything. If everything seems fine, and I turn the boost down till I get around to doing a light build do you think I'd be safe? Or should I go for a N/A Si? Which I will be throwing all of that in anyway as soon as warranty is up and by the looks of it I will be paying same price for a completely stock Si.

i am positive it is NOT a honda certified used car it WILL NOT come with Honda-care, sorry stock cars only everything must be OEM on a HONDA certified used, if they are certifying that car then the warranty will be voided the second you pull into the dealer with a issue or they are just upping the price of the car.

even if it was an aftermarket extended warranty it would be denied since the car isn't stock thats how those things work....

also even on the LINK to the car I posted it isn't a certified car pretty sure your buying an AS IS ragged out POS

For that price, might as well look for a newer SI year so you can have the 09+ front end and the chances of it being stock so you can modify it the way you want.
You don't want anyone's sloppy seconds and especially if it has been beat on like we all know this SI has been.

A Honda dealership that is going to sell a car as certified used that was boosted on stock internals? If that were true I would stay away simply because they have no idea how to run a business. There is no way it can be certified, or have a drivetrain warranty. I still say to stay away and buy a stock Si somewhere.

its not a certified car i promise that not listed as one under honda's site or the site of that dealer if it were a certified used car then i think the local rep needs a call and he needs to straighten that dealer out because thats some shady ****. i have certified a few cars in my career for coming up on 10 years, for two different auto makers and NOTHING can be done to the car down the point it must have OEM brand tires on it

I would say no on that. Sounds good, but Like they said above, you dont know what they did to the car, and a stock block isnt going to take the abuse of a turbo for very long.

damn i agree with everyone else...theres no way honda is goin to certify that heavily modified of a car. pass on it and find something else. ive learned the only way to get a honda is as close to stock as possible

http://automobiles.honda.com/certifi...standards.aspx

There are all the requirements and inspectons that this car must meet. Honda will NEVER certify a vehicle with aftermarket parts. As near everyone has already said.

I wouldn't recommend the purchase.

Like everyone has said, Honda isn't going to give any kind of warranty what so ever for this car. They will chalk anything wrong with it to the turbo. I myself have this EXACT same set up, full race t3/t04e and I'm pushing 410whp @13lbs and Honda would laugh at me if I came to them for anything.

Also I wouldnt worry so much about the engine (although yeah a used turbo car usually isn't a good thing to get your hands on) I would worry about how much he dogged the crap out of the tranny

I wouldn't touch it. It's too modded, and you don't know how well the previous owner did the job.

i disagree with everyone on here. you can get an idea of how the car was treated if you can meet the owner who built it. if you are buying the car from a dealer though, then i agree there is no way to know. if the seller is an 18yr old kid, then no do not purchase. but if the seller is a 30yr old father, i dont see the car being subjected to abuse or the track.

just because the car is built it does not mean the car will be reliable. do your research on the turbo kit and find out if the level of boost it is running is safe for the motor. the stock k-motors can handle a moderate level of boost with no problems at all down the road.

by looking at the car and the quality of parts used in the build, you will be able to determine how well the car should hold up. plus, it only has 39,000 miles that is very low no matter how you cut it.
