Distributor questions
Alright so here is my other thread that I'm trying to figure out:
https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...2#post45315222
But my question here now is... (and I know there are some threads out there on this already).... how can I keep my external coil distributor and switch out to an OBD1 distributor which has all those CYP sensors and stuff IN the distributor? Because that's not what I have now, right? I mean, my CYP sensor is NOT in the distributor, it's in the crank/oil pump area with the TDC and other sensors, I think...
And I'm getting code 9 (and code 3), and I think it's due to a wiring hack job more than anything. Unless my CYP sensor really is bad. If so, I don't want to go tearing off the timing cover and all that to try to get to it and replace it. Especially if I can simply get the conversion harness like this:

I just need to know, what distributor can I get?!?!? I don't want to go internal coil, unless that is not a problem. I mean, if I lose performance in any way at all by going that route. I don't care if it's a minor degrade if you will. I just want my sh*t to finally work. I've had this car for 2-3 weeks now and it's been nothing but headaches
I have a TD-77U distributor now. What part number or brand or vehicle so I look to grab an OBD1 internal or external coil distributor from? And how can I MAKE SURE it will have all those sensors I need i.e. CYP sensor IN the distributor?
Thanks guys

For example, would this JDM H22 (Internal Coil) Type S w/TEC Distributor TD-89U

Work for me? I know it's internal coil, and I think OBD1? But would it have all those sensors I need like CYP in it??

Or... this one for a '96 Prelude VTEC: JDM H22 (Internal Coil) w/TEC Distributor TD-60U
I just can't tell from the pics if it has the CYP sensor and stuff in the dizzy...

cyp should be in the distributor. I am having a current cyp problem and the tuner said that if it is a bad sensor, I'd have to switch the distributor. What is more, the manual For integras say that is easier to change the distributor because the sensor is manufacured within the distributor. This is off an ODBII 2000 Gsr P72. Now my tuner is a very good tuner especially with honda engines, so I trust he knows what he talking about.
Well I just went ahead today and ordered a replacement for the distributor I already have (TD-77U). You're right and I can't believe I missed that the CYP sensor is in the distributor. Or it's just easier to replace the whole distributor anyways. I am so freaking stupid that this whole time I have been thinking I needed a new CKP sensor and I went ahead and bought two of them! Lol. I'll be returning them if this new distributor fixes my problem.
I'm curious if it also helps you. Let me know!
