automatic shift knob compatibility
I have been looking for a stock automatic shift **** for my 98 ex v6 coupe to no avail. Are the newer generation auto ***** compatible? They seem to be more widely available...
I'm guessing you didn't bother looking at the Accord FAQ for some ideas.....
New OEM:
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...5=SELECT+LEVER
Used OEM:
- eBay
- craiglist
- the WTB/FS thread
- v6performance forums
- junkyard or pick-and-pull
- etc
New aftermarket:
- TAS Auto
- eBay
- etc
To answer your other question you need to be way more specific than 'newer generations compatible'.......your chassis was from 98-02 and all those should be interchangeable. Beyond that I doubt it.

Yes and no - I spent an embarassing amount of time looking for something using the wrong terminology. Thank you for the link, that is exactly what I was looking for.
I'm guessing you might have a newer one you could swap for free/cheap laying around? Otherwise you might as well just get the one meant for it.
Doubt it, IIRC your model has the button on the side. Newer ones have a button on the front, and do not connect nearly the same as yours. You *may* be able to retro-fit it on but I personally wouldn't do it. Just do a Google Image search on what they look like.
thanks for the input... I can't tell by the diagrams on the linked site how well it would work - outer diameter of lever vs. Inner diameter of the new ****, button orientation.... but the **** for a 2003 model is a fraction of the cost of a 98-02 design. I was hoping someone had tried it. Ebay surprisingly has no oem ***** for this model. Anyway... this will be my 5th post so now I just have to wait it out and I can post a wtb in the appropriate section.
Update: for others that may be looking... the answer is a firm "no" without drilling and modifying the new ****. The outer diameter of the actual shift lever is the same but the length varies and the set screws are in a different place.
