Giving an "Auto" that "5 spd" look?!?! What do I need?
Someone posted pics of their civic where they installed the plastic boot just under the shift **** and it looked like a 5 spd. They also installed a shift **** like a 5 spd. would use and it looked pretty wicked :D
Anyhow, since I can not find any reverse indiglo gauges (that I like) for my LX, I figured I'll get this done for my b-day instead
One question about the shift ****..... What about the button that is on the side of the OEM **** you press to shift the gears?
Thanks for any input on this!!!
PS >> If someone could post those pics, that would be nice
Where can I get this stuff for the best price?

Insead of bashing the idea, give him some real suggestins. Seriously, don't spend money on trivial cosmetics. Take the money you would have spent on the stick look-alike, and spend it on something useful. Put that money towards better tires, or a K&N filter, or get your car detailed, just something useful. I think stock looks 100000% better than fake parts. Don't you just cringe when you see those "bling bling" wheel covers, or bolt on tips attached to rusty ol' stock exhaust??? If you can't do it right, please don't do it. I hate when someone sees a ghetto *** civic with 2 ft. wings and shiny wheel covers, then bashes my tasteful civic because it is the same car.

why not swap over to 5spd instead of just looking like it?

Oh come on....it takes like a whole 15 minutes to learn, if that. It's not rocket science.

I'm not trying to bash...it's ur car of course. But what is the point of giving it a "5 spd" look? In the end, ur car is still an auto.

I do plan to drop a B18C? into my LX after school.
As far as the rice ****. I don't give a $hit what you think to be honest. I mean it's inside the car and the main thing is to shock the peeps that ride Just like the remote start still seems to startle people
I've got wheels, grill, **** is dropped nice, tail lights are nice, exhaust, and a AEM c/a/i >>> What I am saying is that I am happy with my car at this point with the little $$ I have. So, why you guys bashing? ...and to the person who said I am doing this because I can't drive stick. Get your **** straight. I've owned two manuals (tercel and Subaru)
Anyhow, it's not as bad as the LED's (which I am willing to bet some of you have) or the Altezzas!

Re: (LX98Civic)
Just buy a shift **** made for an auto, that has the button thingie on it. Then I'm sure you can get a shift boot made somewhere that just tucks under the plastic, or you could glue it or staple it or something similar.

Re: (maks)
not that i agree... but there are several companies like MatriX and TenzoR that make automatic shifters that 'look' like manual shift *****. the button is on the top. As far as a boot goes.. you'll probably have to have that custom done.. just make sure you know what gear your in!

Re: (brcivic411)
the button on the side is actually just a honda shift **** thing.
what i mean is the actual movement of the button is up and down, you'll see when you take this apart
my friend has a shifter that looks like a manual one, there is no button the whole thing just slides up and down
as for the boot, i think if you take off all the plastic around the shifter and maybe trim something
(again, you have to look)
you can put on an oem boot from a manual
this should hold you off untill you get your swap!!!
