I am upgrading my pads for EXPO. I am currently on OEM pads. they have quite a bit of life left so I plan to swap them back on when done. I posted in the expo thread in the ITR form about it and was told to just get the cheapest set of semimatalic pads.

To be clear I am running in the novice group and have no idea what to expect.

I was looking at pad brands (per side)

1)Beck/Arnley Premium Semi-Metallic pads advance auto parts $35

2)Hawk HPS street pads $80

3)Hawk HP plus race $111

I dont really want to spend a ton of money because this may be the only time I do this. However I dont want to have braking issues while Im down there

Sugestions welcomed

 

It really depends if your looking for more of a dd or track car. For dd I'd recommend Hawk HPS and for track Hawk HP.

Question about the hawk HPS pads. will they hold up to some track use for the expo and are they going to noisy on the street for dd.

 

I went ahead and bought the Hawk HP plus front pads (PN HB143N.680/2)

 

With the HP+ youll be fine and you can still DD the car with those. The HPS would probably fade pretty quick.

 

Get the Hawk HP Plus. The HPS pads are OK, but your pedal will ride lower than desired when they are hot.
