i have a 98 ek coupe
i have an idling problem....when my car is in idle it idles from 2000-1000 rpm
keeps jumping up and down through that rpm
WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM??

anyone may have an idea on what can cause my car to do that??

Common problem. Did you try a search? Look up IACV.

IACV. Clean it and check the pins in the plug. We sometimes run into a bad connection and occasionally some idiot has hacked the wiring and tried to fix it. I saw a how to thread on here somewhere showing how to clean or replace the IACV. If its not that it could be fast idle valve. Try adjusting this.

 

The IACV has two bolts on the back of the intake manifold. Take it off spray brake cleaner in it, let it dry, put it back on. If that doesn't work I think its a vaccum hose leak. There is one on the back of the intake manifold that is easy to miss, but when I left it off, my car ran just like that.

 

I had the same **** happening with my EG after I removed the catalytic converter. I replaced the IACV & it stopped. If I was you that's where I would start....
