It is possible you have a different motor. Open the hood and look at the front of the motor. On the passenger side of the motor where it connects to the transmission, you should see a stamped letter followed by numbers and possibly another letter and a number. Example. B18A1, D16Z6. Or even a stamp like B18B. Take a look and post back here. We can tell you what years your motors for.

lower left of this pic shows a flat spot on the engine block. You will see on this one its a B18C and then a bunch of numbers under it. The upper one is the engine code.

If the head is a d16y8, I think that is out of a 96-99 dx.

Is 96-99 models all have the same parts? Are they all universal?

Some parts are the same and some are different. Some models came with diffenerent engines, trim packages, etc. Let say your looking for a front fender for a 2 door dx. All 2 door fenders in these years will work. A 4 dr. fender wont. All dx's are the same for those years. Understand or did I just do a great job of creating more confusion?

The D16Y8 is a 1996-2000 Honda Civic EX motor. You have SOHC VTEC

Thread titles MUST summarize the tech problem (be topic specific) so that members browsing titles can understand the problem without reading the post.

Title edited.
