Looking to possibly sell my 1990 240sx, or trade it (I have cash to throw on top). Just seeing what’s out there... I would like to get back into another Miata. If you don’t feel like reading scroll to the bottom for a “simplified” version.
The car is a 1990 Nissan 240sx 5spd base model hatchback. The car is black in color and very clean for the year. I would say the car is cleaner than 90% of the 240sx’s I see on the road in WI. The body of the car is very clean, no dings, and paint shines great. The inside of the car is also very clean for the year; black dash is in perfect shape and is not cracked like most 240sx’s. The interior of the car is 100% original and intact including the hatch cover.
The car is my daily driver and currently has relatively low mileage for the year, just turned over to 128,000 miles today. The engine and drivetrain all function as they should, this is my daily driven car I can’t be driving it with any major issues. The clutch grabs great, and the transmission shifts into all gears smoothly. The motor is the stock Single Cam 2.4 liter (KA24E) and I average about 28mpg around the city. The only modifications done to the motor are a set of Magnacore performance plug wires, and a MAF adapter to a cone filter. The only other modification to the car is with the suspension. The car has been lowered with a set of Megan Racing Track series coilovers. These coilovers are height and dampening adjustable; to be honest they are an awesome investment. I drive the car daily, and have no problems with it being too stiff of a ride as long as the coilovers are set on soft.
Bottom line…
I would say this is one of the better examples of a Midwest 240sx. This isn’t your typical rotted out abused 240sx. The modifications on the car are all to replace factory parts that were worn out; there is no hack job nonsense on this car that you commonly find with modified 240sx’s. This is a clean low mileage car that looks great, and can be driven daily with no major issues. I am looking to trade with a car that is in similar condition to mine, and I am also willing to add cash depending on the trade. Looking to trade for another car, no SUV’s or trucks. I only drive manual transmission cars so please don’t offer me any automatic vehicles. If you are not interested in trading feel free to call or email me and make an offer. Thanks for reading.
“Simplified version”
Goods:
Pretty clean (for WI) 1990 240sx 5spd base model *Lightweight* hatchback
Only 128,000 miles
My Daily Driver (It’s reliable)
Motor and Transmission are solid
Clutch grabs great
Black Interior is very clean and complete, no dash cracks
CD player
Recent tune up (Magnacore wires, NGK plugs, new front pads, and one new injector)
MAF adapter and Cone filter Intake replacement
Megan Racing Track series Coilovers
Have a full set of 20% precut tint that is included with the car
Not hacked together/abused like 99% of the 240’s I see around here
Bads:
Exhaust manifold gasket leak
Occasionally Idles high, around 1500rpm, then drops to normal… I think it’s a vacuum leak I need to track down.
AC doesn’t work
Frame rails have a little bit of surface rust beginning to show its pretty minor, and they are slightly pushed in near the middle. The car still lifts up fine.

The car could use a solid professional Wax job, but still looks great as-is.
The day I bought it….
As it sits today….

What made you think its been re-painted?
Well it has, I'm not here to hide anything. A little background info on the car....
The car was purchased by a body shop owners son as a project many years ago, the car got repainted by them. They were going to continue to build the car, but the son became ill with cancer and passed away. The car sat for many years until the dad decided to finally sell it, and here it is now.
Looking for a quick sale, just had someone come look at the car and say they were buying it. So me (being 3ft 9in tall) had to take all the pedal extensions I had put on there off, while doing that they broke(my extensions, the original pedals are fine). So here I am with a car I can't really drive at the moment unless I get my fabricator to help me out again. I dont want to spend the money to re-install them and just have the car sell right away, that would be a waste of my money. Hopefully someone on here is looking for a clean 240 and can help me out here.
