my car needs new shifter bushings cause when im in gear there is alot of play in the shifter stick. Sometimes when i shift gears it feels sloppy and also when i shift gears at times it feels ruff going into the gear and other times it feels fine, is this all linked to the shifter bushings being bad?

 

that depends. if you have someone who can get in and work the shifter around while your under the car you can see if its shifter, linkage, or just a worn out trans.

 

it could be the bushings but if the shifter is moving when u shift its most likely a torn motor mount and is very common to happen. usually its the back motor mount that goes bad. have someone rev the motor or u can rev it urself by the throttle body in neutral and see how much the motor rocks back n forth.
