Default 94 Honda Del Sol wont turn over..

hey guys, alright so I have a 94 Del sol that just quit turning over completely. It worked fine, then 20 min later it wouldnt turn over at all, all u can hear is the fuel pump and the little electrical tick when you turn the key...so I have been jump starting it for the last 2 days. Its not the battery i know, ive had it tested so i figure it has something to do with the starter/ground wire/bad connection ect.. im not very savvy with cars at all & thought it very strange that it just quit working all of a sudden. If you guys could help me out that would be great. Hopefully try and keep in newb terms since im not to familiar with how allot of it works. If you need anymore info just ask and i will let ya know.

Thanks allot in advance

When you turn they key is one click or does it keep ticking? Do the lights go dim? Check/clean battery terminals; if you have sufficient power try having someone tap the starter with a hammer while trying to turn it over. Also check that all your body grounds are clear of corrosion. You'd be surprised of the problems that can arise from a bad connection.

just one small click, & no, the lights dont dim at all. but ok, ill check the grounds. what will hitting the starter with a hammer do?

Just didnt under stand why it had been working fine, no weak starts or anything and now it feels like im trying to start it without pushing the clutch in...just nothing at all.

If anythings hung up inside the shock from the hammer will break it free. Don't wail on it, just a couple good taps. Sometimes it works but you'll need to replace it eventually if its bad.

I'm pretty sure your main relay should be clicking the whole time you crank it, try putting your ear next to it. It's under the dash on the driver side, just put your head in that area. Or the positive plug on the starter might have come out, it's just a pin in a rubber boot. Or your starter took a crap.

I agree with you. I have a 95 del sol si and I had the same issue. It ended up being the positive plug on the starter that had come out. When I was trying to remove starter to get it checked out, I noticed the positive plug came out without any resistance. I realized this was my issue but I still took the starter and battery to get testes and both were fine. I went back home put everything back up, made sure positive plug was snug, and it fired right up.
