Last night i was aboout to go out when this happened:

I`m hoping its just the battery because once the car was jumped, it ran fine, except for when I stepped on the brakes, the lights flashed, and flashing my high beams all most made the car die.

 

Sounds like the alternator is going, that or maybe a bad cell in the battery. You can take the battery to any parts store and they can test it for you, you can even get the alternator tested at some stores.

 

almost positive it's the battery, how old is it? try to drive around a bit and see if it starts afterward, if it doesnt then battery is shot.

 

The battery? I had asked my dad when he last changed it, and he doesn`t remeber lol. I drove around last night after I had the jump for about 30 minutes. The car ran great like it always does, I downshifted, hit 80 no problem. Than I stopped at WAWA, came out and the same thing, no start. Thanks, you eased my worries lol.

 

It could be the alternator too. I had the same issue. It would push start and jump start fine, but the alternator wasnt charging the battery so it would never start on it's own. Put in a new battery and it started up, drove it for a while and turned it off. Wouldn't start again. Turns out alternator was junk.

 

I feel like an idiot lol. It was the battery and it runs great if not better now. But I do have plans to change out the alt over the summer. Don`t need this happening again lol.
