1997 CIVIC DX. window/motor problems. HELP!
******THANKS! found out it was rattling due to the airbox rattling against the motor/fuel rail.

1. Gears on the window regulator are probably rounded (at the point where it is stopping)...the window could be pretty far off the track too. You gotta get another regulator take the door panel off and check the track/replace the regulator.
2. When i read just 2 i thought it was probably a bushing but after reading the whole post maybe your transmission or rear engine mount is loose or busted. You could still replace the shifter bushing as they are pretty cheap but that much movement means the motor/trans isn't being held in place well enough. Just check the mounts and try to shake things around to see if anything seem detached.

If money is tight you don't want to go to Honda. If you are not comfortable enough to jack the car up and get underneath it then yes you will have to take it somewhere.

The top left two in that picture are the mounts I would check (I know it's an integra but I'm on my phone and it's the same) one you can see just by popping the hood (top leftest) if the trans isn't attached to the frame very well it's gonna move. Try pushing that side off the engine and check for excessive movement. The rear mount (top middle) you need to get under the car, inspect it and again check for play by pushing on the engine in that area. While your under there you can look up right under your shift **** and see the shift bushing, but if your in the car and in neutral and the shifter isn't extremely wobbly, the bushing is probably fine.
As for the regulator yes a junk yard or in the FS section here/similar site. The OEM ones cost more than aftermarkets but if you get an aftermarket you'll be dealing with the same problem sooner than you like.
