Default Has it been damaged?

Morning everyone,

I think I just created a headache for myself. This weekend I was working on the wife's 96 integra LS auto. I changed her front brake pads since the old ones were grinding and also had the rotors resurfaced. I aso replaced the distributor o-ring since that had been leaking for a while. After I was done I drove the car around and properly bedded in the new pads. Well, later that day I figured I would degrease the engine in the area where the dizzy had been leaking. I used a degreasing agent and low pressure water to rinse it off.

The headache lies in that I think some of the water may have gone in the transmission through the trans dipstick. Now when I'm driving I here this clicking sound and it wasn't there earlier in the day. At first I thought it was the brake pads so I lifted the car and took off the calipers to make sure. So if by chance some water did get in there, how much damaged has been done? Should I just drain the tranny and flush the cooler aslo? Do you guys think that the gears may be damaged? I didn't drive it around long.

Also about how many quarts of trans fluid will I need? What brand of trans oil are you guys using these day?

2.9 qts for a drain and refill, so perhaps another 2 qts will fit in the trans cooler? Honda ATF-Z1?

Ok I just confirmed it is Honda ATF-Z1 and in order to flush the trans I will need 9 qts.

I can't see there being any damage, but I would drain and flush just to make sure there is no water in the transmission.

Use the Honda ATF, capacity should take in the cooler if it is stock, either way, use the dip stick gauge to get the correct amount into the system. 94

Thanks fcm. I have researching all day trying to find capacities at work. I found it to be 2.9 qts.
