92 Integra GS Sedan LEAKING n OVERHEATING HELP!
ok well my bro has a 92 integra GS sedan stock everything LITERALLY and its Automatic also
ok so i think everyday or atleast every other day he has to fill up his coolant.. and of course while its on the road and i guess it leaks alot of coolant out thats when the heat goes up but it never passed the red.. it was near it but didnt go on or past the red line
now im wondering what can it be.. it looks like its coming from the middle of engine but closer to the passenger side also behind the engine
ive checked the hoses i can see from the top and behind the IM i even changed the iacv ones already to brand new hoses.. i really need help on this guys on what do u guys think it is.. it leaks alot but only when its warm/hot already..
oh and also while the car has been driven and is already leaking and i open the hood.. the coolant is also like on top of the transmission like where the transmission mount goes and it has a little ditch there, well that little ditch becomes into a pool of coolant.. im really hoping its not the head gasket or anything too major.. this is the only car my bro and my mom has,
could it be anything under the intake manifold? or the heater core? but its NOT wet inside the car on the passenger carpet, and when i squeezed and felt all the hoses i can reach which were top radiator hose, lower rad hose, heater core hose, iacv hose.. there were no signs of leaking
thanks for reading and i hope someone can respond promptly that can help me with this problem
have a good one guys

You have a leak in one of your hoses. Drive it around and pull over and pop the hood. Sometimes the leak isn't big enough and only shoots our coolant when theres alot of pressure in the coolant system.

just put a pressure tester on it. make sure everything is good and dry first. then pump it up to 15psi or so. the leak should be easy enough to spot when the system is pressurized.
the leak is causing a lack of pressure in the system. that lack of pressure is what's causing your overheating. find the leak, repair it, and you should be good.
be sure to properly bleed the system once repairs have been made and coolant topped up

Where can i get or rent a pressure tester? Im really hoping its not the water pump or headgasket.. It leaks soo much in one day he would have to fill it atleast twice i think.. And it overheats when its idling most if the time but like i said before it doesnt go past the red.. Should i tell them to not drive the car until i check and hopefullt fix it?
Should i also do a compression test? If so what readings should i look for thats good..
Thanks guys

due to the fact that it's overheating, i wouldn't drive it until you find out where the leak is and repair it. driving it could cause multiple issues contributed by high heat. you can buy a pressure test kit from autozone or equivalent. it won't cost much. maybe 40$. just make sure it has the adapter for imports. it's a great tool to have for diagnosing leaks.
it's likely only overheating because of the leak. the system needs to be sealed before the rad cap in order to build the appropriate pressure to raise the boiling point of the coolant/water. for every psi of pressure built in the system, the boiling point raises 3 degrees. if that pressure is not allowed to build, you lose the raised boiling point and overheat.
i wouldn't worry too much about the head gasket, unless he's been driving it while overheating a lot. from your description, it's leaking externally.
compression numbers for a stock b18a/b should be roughly 150-180psi. more important than the actual numbers is the variance between cylinders. you want no more than 10% difference between the highest cylinders pressure and the lowest.
just get the leak repaired first, then worry about compression

wow. 70$? gotta be one out there that's cheaper. or try and rent one. it is, however, an invaluable tool.
just make sure he doesn't drive/overheat the car before solving the issue

i rented the tester at autozone didnt fit my radiator.. and also they did not want to check if there was any other kind or any other adapters.. it was 82.31 then i got my money back of course.. i just need the adapter.. cuz i found my dads snap-on tester but the adapter for this one is like 75bux or so just for the adapter..
